How to use the Forums

Using a Forum couldn't be easier, whether you want to start a topic for discussion or to reply to a message already posted, follow the simple steps below to get going!

Before you start

  1. REMEMBER make sure you're logged in otherwise you won't be able to access the Forums!
  2. There are currently two main disussion areas.
    • 'Announcements' is read only and features details of events, issues and other news. 
    • 'General' is YOUR area and your chance to chat and share news and views with other YV Forum users.
  3. To navigate round the Forum area use the 'bread crumbs' which run across the top of the page. Clicking on oneof the titles will take you back to that webpage

Reply to existing message

  1. On the first page of YV Forums there is a list of the main (first level) Forums. To enter these Forums, just click the link
  2. This opens the 'threads' under that Forum topic. 'Threads' are basically online conversations.
  3. To reply to one of the 'threads' (conversations) simply click 'post reply'
  4. A new screen will open. Type in your comment in the text box and click on 'post reply'

To create a new message

  1. To start a new conversation ('thread'), click on 'General' (Remember 'Annoucements' is read only so you can not start up a new topic in this area)
  2. Click on 'Post a new message'
  3. A new screen will open. Under 'Message subject' type in what your new message is about. Make sure your subject title good because this is what forum members will see and will attract them to your conversation
  4. In the box below, type in what your message is about in the text box and then click on 'Post new message'
