A move to independence is a big step in anyone’s life. For a disabled person it could be an even bigger step. Too often we are not given the right information, or the help we need, to enable us to make this transition in our lives as smoothly as possible.

They have been written by members of the Living in London Forum. The group brought together people with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, who have experienced living independently, with or without personal assistance. In producing this information we have drawn on our experiences and hope they will help you wherever you live.
